"What' s your word?"
During a recent Wednesday night small group time, Vision began
to list prayer requests. Even though the specific nature of each request
was
different, the theme was the same-DIRECTION for our lives.
That night, I believe God revealed to me that
His desire
for Vision is to realize, or for some of us to remember,
that we are choosing direction for our lives not only each day,
but each hour, each minute, each moment. There is no
neutrality in the eyes of
God. Time of waiting, yes, but neutrality, no.
Remember picking teams when you were a kid?? You became loyal
and determined to do everything you could to help
your team to win. You wouldn’t have given your home-run
to the other team! There were no “in between” teams
for the people who just couldn’t decide which
team to be on. Yet this is exactly how many Christians
live today. They forget they’ve already chosen
to be on God’s team. They try to be neutral.
There are also those with the longing to be on
he “winning” team, but
just haven’t made that commitment.
Whether you’ve lost your sense of DIRECTION, or never had it,
either way, I have no doubt you feel a sense of emptiness.
Vision will spend 2009 with a renewed awareness of
the paths we take and the DIRECTION they are taking us.
What's your word?? Don't know yet? We encourage you to
ask God which word He would have you choose for this year!
